We want to make sure that drivers can see us when we are out riding our bikes. Make sure to wear bright, reflective clothing. Make sure that your bike has reflectors and a light.

In CT, a bicycle is considered a non-motorized vehicle and must follow the same rules of the road as drivers do. This includes stopping at stop signs, obeying traffic signals and riding on the right side of the road.

Recognize that large parked vehicles may be blocking the view of smaller vehicles about to back up.
Dress to be visible. To be seen better, wear light, bright clothes with reflective markings and carry a flashlight or other lighting when walking at dusk and nighttime.
