Why? Establishing standing rules for administrative functions can
make an organization more effective.

Definition of Standing Rules
“the rules of a society or organization for details of its government that are created by a majority vote and remain in force until repealed or annulled by a majority vote” Source: Marion Webster Dictionary

State and Local Courts Shall enact Standing Rules and shall not be in conflict with the bylaws of the National Order Deal only with administrative matters and function under the umbrella of the organization’s bylaws Are administrative and establish specifics for conduct, such as the time, date and frequency of committee meetings or the use of petty cash

State and Local Courts They can be adopted or changed at any business meeting upon the same conditions as any act of the Court (Motion, majority vote). They can be adopted by a majority vote of those present without previous notice They are usually adopted as need arises. If a standing rule is temporarily suspended for a particular meeting, the suspension is not binding at future meetings. Standing Rules shall be reviewed annually and updated as needed.

Meetings The regular business meetings of the Court shall be on the Second Sunday of the month in the rectory meeting room at 11:30. Exception: the First Sunday of June we will attend 10:00 AM Mass as a group to celebrate Priest Appreciation Day followed by a luncheon meeting. Spiritual Activity (ex. Say rosary 15 minutes before start of meeting, have a speaker Socials (ex. Pot Luck Dinner prior to September meeting)

Fees and Dues Upon reception of a new member (they will be given ex. A State pin or CDA pin from National Office In case of an emergency, the regent with approval of members, may allow the court to pay the dues of a faithful member for a maximum period of ___years

Benevolences – Members The Court shall receive Communion in a body annually( a time and parish to be selected by the Regent). A stipend of $10.00 shall be given to the parish for the Mass. On the death of a member the court shall have an Announce Mass for the deceased member with a stipend of $10.00 given to the church. The sunshine chairman shall be allowed $25.00 per year for cards and stamps.

Benevolences and Courtesies Invite District Deputy / State Representative to all Court functions and assume her expenses, excluding transportation. Give District Deputy / State Representative a check / gift at Christmas and / or Receptions / Installations. (Stipulate approximate amount of money to be expended.) Invite all State Officers as guest to special events (ex. Anniversary). Send court newsletter to the National Representative, to all State Officers and to the District Deputy / State Representative. .

Chaplain / Spiritual Advisor Pay Chaplain / Spiritual Advisor’s expenses when attending CDA functions. Order and pay for a SHARE subscription for Chaplain / Spiritual Advisor and pastor(s). Gifts Chaplain / Spiritual Advisor (Christmas, birthday, anniversary, Priest Appreciation Day, etc.) stipulate when gift should be given and approximate amount to be expended. .

Regent Pay for Regent’s expenses incurred while representing the court at official CDA functions. Stipulate which functions. Reimburse Regent’s expenses relating to Court activities
