Mentoring and Evaluating Teaching at CSU
What are we trying to do? In particular, are we trying to build a “better SET”, or do something different? For us, “mentor, then measure” theme. What does the extant literature tell us? What is the campus climate? What other pieces of the puzzle must we attend to? In particular, where does the mentoring and evaluation of teaching fit in the T&P landscape and annual merit reviews?

In the colored folder on your table, you will find copies of the full framework for the two domains that are the focus of this conference. Once you’ve chosen where you would like to focus, go to the full framework for several reasons:

Direct participants to the Classroom Climate and IS domains. Review the format: definition of the domain, levels of progression within the domain, types of evidence that demonstrate effectiveness in that domain, sub-topics and resources that will be eventually linked on our website.

Instructional Strategies OR The “Whole Pie” This Summer Conference will highlight 2 of the seven domains plus The Whole Pie. Each session you attend over the next two days will focus on one of the two domains or the Whole Pie. (Read some examples from the schedule).
