Knowing what learning means and trying to measure what a student has learned as a result of your teaching is at odds with standards based assessment which recognises that students will have prior knowledge and experience and your teacher input.
Experts can be developed and people can be mentored to develop additional expertise – experiences, different problems to solve and apply knowledge to and chance to learn to communicate about their expert behaviours.
