3 Grant Landscape Of the 50 states and District of Columbia, Nevada ranks 51 st in federal grant spending per capita. In 2010, the national per capita spending in the grant category was $2,187, while Nevada saw $1,321. Grants account for 19 percent of per capita federal spending in Nevada. Medicaid represents 27 percent of the grant category total. 4 Addressing the Issue In 2011, Nevadas Legislators unanimously passed Senate Bill 233 establishing the Office of Grant Procurement, Coordination and Management. The bill effectively combined: 4 concurrent bills recommendations of the Nevada Spending and Government Efficiency Commission established by the governor 3/8/2012 Nevada Office of Grant Procurement, Coordination & Management

5 Advantageous Structure Housed within the Department of Administrations Budget Office, the Grant Office has access to an array of internal resources. The Department of Administration is uniquely positioned with two cabinet-level reportsDirector of Administration and the states Chief Information Officer. The Chief of Grant Management is appointed by the Director of Administration and has two staff.
