Blended Learning – Rotation
Station Rotation – a Rotation-model implementation in which within a given course or subject (e.g., math), students rotate on a fixed schedule or at the teacher’s discretion among classroom-based learning modalities. The rotation includes at least one station for online learning. Other stations might include activities such as small-group or full-class instruction, group projects, individual tutoring, and pencil-and-paper assignments. Some implementations involve the entire class alternating among activities together, whereas others divide the class into small group or one-by-one rotations. The Station-Rotation model differs from the Individual-Rotation model because students rotate through all of the stations, not only those on their custom schedules. (Example: KIPP LA Empower Academy) Show the video from ~2:30 to ~5:00 in time Facilitator gives an example of a rotation (one method for blended learning that could be used at middles school) in a class period 2) Teachers, in department pairs, plan a 3-part rotation for one 45-minute period 6

Blended Learning – Rotation
Starting with a lesson you already deliver, develop a three-part rotation. Decide on the part you already have and add to it. direct instruction technology hands-on

Module 6 - Next Steps Teachers create/revise a few lessons in the rotation blended learning model. Teachers present the lesson and reflect on its success. Teachers continue using a rotation method for differentiation and student-engaged learning.

Module 6 - Follow-up Suggestions
Coaches continue conversations about blended learning and a flipped classroom and provide implementation models. Coaches provide screencasting professional development. Coaches offer professional development and/or provide resources to teachers regarding blended learning and the flipped classroom.
