2. LOCATION AND PEOPLE
Akrata is situated in the south-west of Greece. It is built by the sea. It is in the north of the Peloponnese. It’s near two big cities, Patra and Aigio. Almost people live there. Akrata is not very old. It’s 110 years old.

4. LANDSCAPE
Akrata is very famous for its long beaches. It has a big lake which is called Tsivlos. There you can have picnics, go rafting and do archery. It is near Mount Helmos and a big river. The river is called Krathis. There are many quiet villages on Mount Helmos which are very peaceful and traditional. One of the villages is called Zarouchla. There is a wonderful and big waterfall.

5. THE OLD AND THE MODERN PART OF THE TOWN
The old part of the town has many old neighborhoods, historic places and ancient ruins (ancient theatre of Aigeira).
The other part is next to the sea but the old isn’t.
At the new part there are uncountable blocks of flats, a lot of shops and many hotels.

8. ACTIVITIES
Visitors can go to the beach, go shopping, walk in the forest or climb on Mount Helmos. They can also go cycling around the beach or in the villages.
