7 Program Oversight Education & Training Teacher Certification
Recertification Education & Training In NC after we reviewed all that had been completed were able to set a vision of how driver education would work in NC to best support traffic safety education.

8 Teach our Students Prepare Our Teachers Set The Foundation
The same curriculum standard set for all of our students from the coast to the mountains. Prepare Our Teachers Hearing from the school districts and coordinators the need for teacher training and succession planning was a high priority. Our students can not learn without trained teachers. Program Administration has to be the foundation and the glue that holds all of this together. Set The Foundation Program Administration is critical to the rebuilding and sustainability or driver education. Legislation, Policy, Agency, advisory counsel and collaboration.

Feb. 2018 Pilot In Progress Implement UNC program - Mandatory Parent Meetings – Collaborate with LEAs with success at current volunteer session. Document best practices and replicate in other districts. Feb 2019 Planning DMV Real ID collaboration April 2018 Done Teacher Certification/Recertification Finish Instructor Certification – Align DPI and DVM-SBTS certification polices. April 2019 DPI Driver Education Licensure – Establish pathway to add DE certification to current licensure of DOP certified teachers. Nov. 2018 Complete Develop digital curriculum for teacher certification. Oct 2018 Education, Technology & Training Transition current curriculums to digital content based on national standards. Oct. 2019 TBD Develop reporting and testing features to ensure curriculum compliance. Oct. 2019 Identify solutions to deliver DMV student test online at LEA for Spring 19 pilot. May 2018 In -Progress Jan-March April-June July-Sept Oct-Dec DMV Collaboration DE Policy Revision/Approval Develop Teacher Curriculum Develop Certification Process Identify solution for student test Completed Action Items LEA Reporting – Implemented new requirements for student data submissions. DMV Collaboration – Established partnership with Licensing Agency and DOA/DIV which includes standing quarterly meetings. Curriculum – Adopted recommended national standard curriculums for both students and teachers. Feedback – Received data from pilot LEAs currently using ADTSEA 3.0 curriculum. Driver Education Policies reviewed, revised and updated. Revised and updated LEA Performance Indicators Identify delivery system for student and teacher programs. Canvas has been adopted for both student and teacher online curriculums. Talk is cheap. At a glance this is what we have completed.
