Get Started with Pearson Mastering Chemistry*
*This presentation is only for Mastering courses and not for Modified Mastering courses.

2. You need 3 things to register:
Address
Course ID
Access Code or Credit Card
If you’re creating a Pearson username and password for the first time, you’ll need an address that you check regularly to create a student account.
You will need to enter your instructor’s Course ID.
You will need to enter an access code that you purchased at the bookstore, or you can purchase immediate access during registration using a credit card or PayPal account.

3. Bookstore purchase? <insert package ISBN and price>
All access code cards include the eText and Learning Catalytics.

4. Want instant access? Purchase online with credit card or PayPal account
Students can purchase online access with or without eText. If students purchase the eText version, Learning Catalytics is included at no additional charge.

5. Let’s go!

6. Step 1. Go to www.pearson.com/mastering/chemistry and select Student under Register Now.

7. Step 2. Select OK! Register now.

8. Step 3. Enter your instructor’s Course ID and choose Continue.

9. Step 4. Create a Pearson username and password or Sign In with a username and password you already have, if you’ve used another Pearson product (e.g. MyLab) before.
Note to presenter: Ask class if anyone has used Pearson REVEL before. If the only Pearson product a student has registered for in the past is REVEL, he will not be able to use that username and password to sign up for a Mastering course. He will need to CREATE A NEW STUDENT ACCOUNT.

10. Step 5. Select an access option.
Enter the access code that came with your textbook or was purchased separately from the bookstore.
Buy access using a credit card or PayPal account.

11. Step 6. From the You’re Done page, select Go to My Courses.

12. Step 7. Select Yes and enter your Course ID to join your course
Step 7. Select Yes and enter your Course ID to join your course. Click Continue.

13. Step 8. If asked, enter your Student ID according to the instructions provided and click Continue.

14. Congratulations! You’re now enrolled in your Mastering course.
Next time you want to access your Mastering course, go to and Sign in.
