The Office of Information Technology Configuration and Asset Management Infrastructure IT 10-18 SCOPE In an effort to manage desktops, servers and other endpoint computers, we will implement ConfigureSoft, Microsoft System Center Configuration and Microsoft Systems Operations Monitor.

The Office of Information Technology Configuration and Asset Management Infrastructure IT 10-18 INCLUDES Engagement with the Configuresoft team to provide estimates of server capacity, installation of the product, training and documentation Deploy SCCM to all university managed computers Deploy Configuresoft to all university managed computers Deploy SCOM and /or Configuresoft to all OIT servers

The Office of Information Technology Standard Computer Models & Configurations INCLUDES Establish the following set of standard hardware configurations PC Desktops – 3 options (High, Mid, Low End) PC Laptops - 2 options (High, Low End) Macintosh Desktops –2 options (High, Low End) Macintosh Laptops – 2 options (High, Low End) Net-books – 1 option Lab Computers –Lab computers could be chosen & ordered from any part of this Computer Standards Document Terminals / Thin Clients – 2 option (High, Low End)

The Office of Information Technology Standard Computer Models & Configurations INCLUDES Establish a contract with 2 preferred vendors Negotiate minimum discounts for purchases Develop processes, documentation for addressing requests outside of the standards Develop standard OS images Establish an automated method for computer purchases Establish a process for identifying purchases and cost made from the standard Establish processes for on-going review of standards and costs Communications campaign

The Office of Information Technology Standard Computer Models & Configurations SUCCESS 60% of all computers purchased during the year after deployment are from standard list will enable UTSA to realize time savings and increased customer satisfaction due to the computer being functional when received. 10% savings on computer purchases by comparing the 12 month period after the standards project to the 12 month period before the project. Survey the UTSA ITAs for their opinion & views of the program six months after implementation. 70% favorability will be considered a success point.
