THE COSTA BLANCA is the segment of coastline belonging to the PROVINCE of ALICANTE

TORREVIEJA is a tourist town whose life revolves around Its two enormous salt lakes, La Mata & Torrevieja which are surrounded by modern developments. Connecting between both the first thing that draws Torrevieja attention is its surroundings, in which these two salty lagoons stand out: a pink and a green one, that confirm the Natural Park of the Lagunas de La Mata & Torrevieja. From north to south, the La Mata beach stands out, with almost two kilometres in length and a dune system characterized by the abundance of fossil dunes.
A little further south, in the place where some historians locate the germ of what is now Torrevieja, we find the Cabo Cervera and the beach of the same name: Playa de Cabo Cervera. Here was located an old watchtower, the so- called Torre del Moro, with a tourist lookout from which you can enjoy a spectacular panorama that stretches from the Mar Menor to the south to the Cabo de Santa Pola to the north.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS - The beach of Acequión is located in the autonomous community of Valencia, more precisely in Torrevieja, in the province of Alicante. It has a length of 900 meters and a width of 25 meters with little variation per tide. Acequión beach is located inside the port of Torrevieja, which is not affected by the waves, thus remaining in balance because there is no contribution or removal of material from the coast. The port is classified tourist interest.
The base of this beach is composed of sand and is easily accessible on foot or by car. The marina called "Marina International" is the nearest marina is 0.2 km from the beach Acequión.
FIT FOR SWIMMING - Sheltered by the harbour docks, this area of gentle profile and calm waters and has an exotic vegetation. Its sand is a natural gold colour. Buildings are built at the foot of the beach.
MEASURE OF IMPROVEMENT As a measure of environmental improvement and landscape integration of the urban area in the vicinity, it has been proposed in a study the conditioning of free space which will be set up in a strip parallel to the Acequión canal. Indicating that a revegetation of this sector will be carried out, preparing a road allowing transit between the urban area and the beach. For the execution of this corridor, native species native to the region will be used.
