Measles was confirmed among unvaccinated French parents aged 30 and 34 years old, respectively, and their son, 5 years old.
Family arrived to Puntarenas, Costa Rica on 18 February, from Paris, France, via Air France. Onset of rash for the 5-year-old was 20 February.
314 passengers were on the same flight, 10 of which are Costa Rican and 6 are from Canada, Chile, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. These passengers have been contacted and remain asymptomatic.
Outbreak control measures are ongoing. Genotype results are pending.
