2 General Sign Standards
Current TOD Signs must comply with Sign chapter of Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 13) New Draft TOD TOD standards regulate permanent signs requiring a sign permit plus A-frame signs Standards apply to each building facade visible from a public or private street, public path or open space, and transit station Off-premise, temporary signs, and signs not requiring a sign permit still regulated by Chapter 13

4 Wall Signs Current TOD Includes wall-mounted, projecting, canopy, awning, and marquee signs May have any combination of the above signs as long as maximum area is not exceeded Max 5% of wall area up to 100 SF (up to 120 SF if no monument sign)

5 Wall-Mounted Signs New Draft TOD
Includes wall, awning/ canopy, and projecting, signs Max 10% of tenant’s leasable building wall square up to 200 SF

6 Wall-Mounted Signs Wall Signs Allowed on each façade of a structure
Must be on first 3 stories of the building May not project more than 18” from wall May not project above roofline May be internally or externally illuminated

7 Wall-Mounted Signs Awning/Canopy Signs Minimum 8’ vertical clearance
May encroach over public/private sidewalk but must be 4’ from back of curb No support posts extending to the ground Sign copy limited to 25% of each surface area Structural awning may have sign face above top of awning up to 24” high

8 Wall-Mounted Signs Projecting Signs Maximum 75 SF
Limited to one per establishment on a street Corner lots may have one per each street frontage Maximum 4’ projection from building face Minimum 9’ vertical clearance May be internally or externally illuminated

9 Marquee Signs Current TOD New Draft TOD
