18 About the Speaker… . In 2012, the city of Dayton, Ohio held eight separate events throughout the year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Wilbur Wright’s death. One of these events was a graveside memorial service. This was held on June 1 at 3:00 pm. As the first person to walk on the moon, Neil Armstrong was thought to be a very fitting person to serve as the guest speaker. The text we will read today is the speech he gave in tribute to Wilbur Wright.
