To identify or point out a noun with the French equivalent of this/these and that/those, use a demonstrative adjective before the noun.

5. Although the forms of ce can refer to a noun that is near (this/ these) and one that is far (that/those), the meaning will usually be clear from context.

6. To make it especially clear that you’re referring to something near versus something far, add -ci or -là, respectively, to the noun following the demonstrative adjective.
