Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States’ and’ despite research efforts, its also among the top 10 diseases in the nation that cannot be prevented, reversed, or cured Most patients live for more than five years and some for years from diagnosis if they are otherwise healthy In the end stages Alzheimer’s impacts balance, walking, and swallowing.

Occupational therapist: Improves daily living and work skills of patients Geriatrician: Focuses on the health care of elderly people Neurologist: Treats nervous system disorders Psychiatrist: Treats mental disorders primarily with medications Primary care provider (PCP): Prevents, diagnoses, and treats diseases
