Most patients live for more than five years and some for years from diagnosis if they are otherwise healthy
In the end stages Alzheimer’s impacts balance, walking, and swallowing.

Geriatrician: Focuses on the health care of elderly people
Neurologist: Treats nervous system disorders
Psychiatrist: Treats mental disorders primarily with medications
Primary care provider (PCP): Prevents, diagnoses, and treats diseases
