Guidelines for beginning a non-profit organization for your state can be found online. Usually includes a filing fee, constitution and bylaws for the organization and other filing fees with your state comptroller.

Be sure and get permission to form a local booster club (non-profit) for your program from your local Board of Trustees or school board. Follow any and all local regulations during this process.

Be creative. Find ways to raise money in your local community.
Get strategies from other teachers who are successful at raising funds.

Any time you get a chance, acknowledge your supporters……newspaper articles, T-shirts and at public events. Let them know they are appreciated!
