Park Güell Park Güell is one of the most spectacular sights of Barcelona. It was created by the famous Catalan architect, Antonio Gaudi, and located in the beautiful neighborhood of Vallcarca, in Barcelona. In 1900 Count Eusebi Güell bought land in order to build a small town. Güell planned to build cottages on that land and later sell them off.

For this project he hired Antonio Gaudi, already having experience of working with him before. The project, however, turned out to be a failure, as the local rich families at the time were not interested in owning the cottages as they were located to far from the center. Eventually, the area was sold to the government who decided to turn it into a public park. The construction started in 1901 and was divided into three periods.

One of the most significant Gaudí creations is La Sagrada Familia which is still under construction. The Cathedral’s building process started in 1882 on which Gaudí was working on for more than 40 years. He spent the last 15 years of his life on this project.

Casa Milà Casa Milà (meaning the 'The Quarry'), is a building designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built during the years 1906–1912. It is located at 92, Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was a controversial design at the time for the bold forms of the undulating stone facade and wrought iron decoration of the balconies and windows, designed largely by Josep Maria Jujol, who also created some of the plaster ceilings.

It was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudí and has been refurbished several times after that. Casa Batlló evokes the creativity and playfulness of Gaudí’s work through the incracite facades and creative floors. Gaudí's assistants Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, Josep Canaleta and Joan Rubió also contributed to the renovation project.

Parc de la Ciutadella The Parc de la Ciutadella is a park in Ciutat Vella,Barcelona, Catalonia. After its establishment during the mid-19th century, it was for decades the only green area in the city, and hitherto of the most popular. The main attraction has, from its establishment hitherto been the zoo. This was due to out of the 7,000 animals present the albino gorilla Snowflake, who has died in Near the zoo's entrance, the famous climbable gigantic stone mammoth is to be seen, just as the metallic cat in another perimeter of the park.

The lake in the Parc de la Ciutadella The lake characterizes the park as a scenery enjoyable for romantics. The lake's location, surroundings, and visitors turns this big sector into a rather convivial place, in which little turtles can be found on rocks, and fishes dashing through the water. Just next to it lies the thickest and most beauteous vegetation that can be spotted in the green areas of Barcelona. There is a locally somewhat famous tree which grows inside the water and separates from the other due to its attractive form and its propagation of bananas.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc The magic fountain of Montjuïc's first performance was on May 19, 1929 during the Great Universal Exhibition. The designer Carles Buigas submitted his plans one year before the exhibition and many thought that the project was too ambitious to be created, let alone completed on time. Over 3000 workers were commissioned to work on the project and less than 1 year later the magic fountain was born. The magic fountain is a spectacular display of colour, light, motion, music and water acrobatics - if you mix all these elements together in just the right combinations, you end up with pure magic! The magic fountain is a "must see" when you come to Barcelona and highly recommended.

Paella is a Valencian rice dish that originated in its modern form in the mid-19th century near lake Albufera, a lagoon in Valencia, on the east coast of Spain. Many non-Spaniards view paella as Spain's national dish, but most Spaniards consider it to be a regional Valencian dish. Valencians, in turn, regard paella as one of their identifying symbols.
