(Visante OCT ™,Carl Zeiss)
Purpose To investigate microcoaxial and clear corneal incision (CCI) architecture in the postoperative period using non-contact anterior segment optical coherence tomography (Visante OCT ™,Carl Zeiss)
3
Methods Prospective study 30 patients submitted to phaco Incision
Microcoaxial 2.20 mm width (15 eyes) Clear corneal 2.75 mm width (15 eyes) IOL implantation Monarch injector Cartridge C
4
Methods Postoperative evaluation 1st day, 1st and 3rd months
Slitlamp examination Seidel test IOP measurement Visante OCT™ Incision architecture Configuration Coaptation Stability

Conclusions Visante OCT™ analysis of Microcoaxial and Clear Corneal Incision post phaco showed: a higher percentage of Descemet’s Detachment in the Microcoaxial group at the 1st postoperative day; that localized detachment of Descemet’s membrane may be more common than observed with slit-lamp microscopy; different incisions' configurations between the two groups with no difference regarding proper coaptation and stability.
