Participation in other movements of the era motivated women to challenge sexism and discrimination based on gender. Roe v. Wade (1973): Women have the right to choose an abortion during the first 3 months

4 Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)
1972: Congress passed the ERA but needed to be ratified by 38 states to become part of the constitution Guaranteed men and women equal rights and protections under the law
