School-wide Expectations

3 Voice Levels Level 0 = No talking Level 1 = Whisper
Level 2 = Conversation voice. Practice!! Ex. Row your Boat

4 Hallway Procedures Practice!
Students should walk on the right side of the hallway on the ”2nd Tile single file” Be courteous to others at all times Do not touch or put your hand on the walls Voice level 0 Practice! Our procedures keep the hallways more orderly! And it actually helps all students get to class more quickly.

5 Restroom Procedures Travel to the bathroom at voice level 0 on the “2nd Tile Single File” When you are with a class waiting to use the bathroom you should remain at a level 0. If you have to speak raise your hand and speak at a level 1.

6 Restroom Procedures Practice!
Go quickly, quietly, flush the toilet, and wash your hands when finished! Only use one squirt when washing your hands. Horseplay, misbehavior is not acceptable DO NOT write on the walls! If you see anything that concerns you (bathroom is dirty, someone has done something inappropriate, etc.), please tell a teacher immediately. Practice!

8 Rewards System Student of the Month Grade Level Rewards
Every month, two students from every homeroom are chosen based on topics associated with our core values of “Safe, Respectful and Responsible.” The winners will have their photos displayed in our SOM section of the hallway for the entire month! Grade Level Rewards Every midterm, teachers will create their own grade level rewards for students who have met the expectations for that time period. Popping with Pride Award Every three weeks students will be nominated by teachers for their leadership qualities shown in and out of the classroom. Students will be delivered popcorn by the administration team.

9 Playground Procedures
Play without tackling, pushing, hitting, or throwing mulch Only slide down when using the slide No sitting on monkey bars Always use the stairs when entering the play gym Only climb when on the stairs and play gym Use the swings without twisting, jumping, and without touching others All balls are to be played on the field, instead of the playground. (No football or soccer), (basketballs are for 4 Square and basketball only!) No intermediate students on preschool equipment When time is up you should line up single file and at a level 0 to go inside No running until you get to the mulch PLAY SAFE AND HAVE FUN!

11 Bullying vs. Picking BULLYING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND COULD RESULT IN DISIPLINARY ACTION What is the difference between bullying and picking? Picking is a way of communicating and sometimes can be friendly, neutral, or negative. Done in the right spirit it can be positive. Bullying is meant to hurt and is presistent. This includes any physical, verbal, written, or other interactions that are unwanted or that make someone else uncomfortable (name calling, gossip, disrespect)

12 Tell Someone!!! If you or someone you know is: being bullied bullying
going through a traumatic time depressed in possession of something that could be dangerous to themselves or others threatening others in person or electronically LET AN ADULT KNOW!!! It is our responsibility to watch out for one another and to speak up when appropriate.

13 Co-Safe This is a timeout of the classroom for a student for continued misbehavior. Student will be removed from the classroom and will go to their teachers designated Co-Safe room. Students will finish assignment and Co-Safe slip before returning to the classroom. If behavior continues, Administrator will be called and the student will be removed. After the 2nd Co-Safe student will receive an office referral If student receives Co-Safe during the nine weeks that student will have a loss of any team and school wide incentives.

15 Breakfast Procedures Respect the breakfast/lunch room monitors at all times. Any disrespect could result in an office referral. Once finished, you should report to your designated area. There should be no walking siblings to class or roaming the halls, you should report to your classroom

16 Going to the Cafeteria Practice!!
Students will use hallway transitions procedures emphasizing level 0 voice levels. Student will walk in the hallway on the “2nd tile single file.” Teachers will escort students to their assigned serving line. Use the bathroom before you go to lunch, there will be no getting up unless its an emergency. Practice!!

17 Lunch Procedures NO!! Please travel to the cafeteria at a LEVEL 0
When students are released to go through the line they will walk in a single file line using voice level 1 and show appropriate behavior in the lunch line including keeping hands to self and staying with their classes. Students need to remember to get everything they need for lunch the first time through the line such as utensils, napkins, and condiments. Students are not allowed to return to the line for any reason once they have been through. Students will go to their assigned tables and eat their lunch with a conversation level of 2. Students are not allowed to get up for any reason until they are dismissed by an adult to take their trays to the tray disposal area and line up under the direction of their teachers at voice level 0 to prepare to enter the hallways.

20 EMERGENCY DRILLS These are for your safety. You MUST take them seriously. Students should: Remain calm Follow your teacher’s instructions precisely Level 0 while the drill is in progress and until teachers allow you to talk Notify an adult any time you see anything or anyone you think could pose a danger. Any adult in the building during the day who is not a staff member should have a visitor tag. If you see an adult without one, tell a teacher, aide, or administrator. ALL TEACHERS WILL EXPLAIN / PRACTICE EMERGENCY DRILLS AND PROCEDURES

School Bus Procedures Even if you don’t ride daily, pay attention...you may ride one some time! There are 3 Expectations for each student on Buses in order to have a Safe Bus Ride: Be Responsible Use Respect Safety First It is important to remember that your behavior on the bus is essential to the safety of you and all of the passengers on the bus. Therefore, misbehavior on the bus is taken very seriously.

23 Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures in the Classroom Arrival- When you arrive in the morning you should exit quickly and either go to the gym or the cafeteria for breakfast. If you eat breakfast when finished you should report to the gym. Afternoon Gym Behavior Be respectful and stay seated behind your cone until your number is called Any continued disrespect or problems could result in an office referral
