Introducing Norway Norway is one of the most beautiful country in the world. It occupies the western part of the Scandinavian peninsula, and it is the farthest north of any European country . About two- thirds of its territory is mountainous and its coastline is cut by glacial fjords and enriched by about little islands. Norway covers about square Km. and it has a population of 5.2 million people. The indigenious people of Norway are the Sami, coming from the northen parts of Sweden, Russia, Norway and Finland.

Norway is a Constitutional Monarchy and its currency is the Norwegian Krone. Its Constitution was adopted in The present monarch is King Harald V, who has married queen Sonja.

The western part of Norway has a marine climate, cool summers, mild winters, and approximately 2,250 mm of precipitations every year. Eastern Norway, being protected by the mountains, has a more continental climate, with warm summers, cold winters, and much less annual precipitation.

The selling of oil and gases plays a vital role in the Norwegian Economy and it is also an important financing source for the Norwegian welfare state. In spite of its abundant fossil fuel, about 98% of Norwegian energy production comes from renewable sources, above all from hydropower. Tourism is also important and figures increase from year to year. Tourists come from all over the world and are mainly attracted by the beautiful Norwegian nature with its high mountains, deep valleys, special night lights, fjords, uncontaminated forests and little islands.

Norwegian love their environment and they are very respectful towards nature. They adore their forest-covered hills and mountains and spend a lot of time there, sleeping in cabins or tents. Thanks to the “Outdoor Recreation Act” of 1957, anyone has free access and right of passage through uncultivated land, regardless of ownership, and the right to camp freely.

Norway has 46 national parks and about 17 % of its territory is protected. Parks are ruled by central and local government. No access to motorized vehicles is permitted, but it is possible to hike, skii, camp, but also light bonfires, fish, pick berries and hunt, with very few restrictions.

Italian guy in Norway A «bit» cold, but peaceful and tidy, inhabited by very polite and welcoming persons, skilled in driving, guiding, pitching tents, playing volleyball, plaiting hair, eating Italian pasta and cooking reindeers
