2 Animal Facts Description Great whites have grey backs and white undersides and they have a pointy snout. They weigh over 5000 pounds. Diet Like other sharks great whites are carnivores. Great whites eat fish, seals, sea lions, and dolphins. 4 Life Cycle Mama sharks hold their eggs inside their bodies until she’s ready to give birth. When she’s ready their born right away and fully developed. Mama sharks give birth to 2 to 10 babies. Their special name is pup. Great whites have white undersides and grey backs. 5 Animal Interactions The great white is covered in scales for protection. There called denticles and they feel like sandpaper. Here’s a picture of a great white showing their denticles. Great whites have no predators except for us humans. Hunters have killed so many that the species is in danger. They use their skin to make boots and meat for food. Interesting Facts Spy-hopping Great whites go out of water to see what’s around them. Its called spy-hopping. Picky Great whites get energy from eating animals that have a lot of Fatty tissue. This tissue is called blubber. Elephant seals and whales have a lot of blubber. For example an otter without much blubber it can spit it out! The world record!
