3 Competition venue Competition will be held in Mäkelänrinne Swimming Center Competition pool is 50m pool and has 10 lanes, in competition 8 lanes will be used. 25m diving pool will be used as warm-up pool

4 Competition Information
AGE GROUPS the minimum age is 12 years old, the maximum is 18 The age will be considered as on the first day of the relevant competition so the athletes born before can take part in the competition GENDER male and female CLASSIFICATION No international classification

5 Competition Format Events in 50m, 100m and 200m with 9 or more athletes entered will be conducted as heats and finals. Best 8 athletes according to the Youth World Para Swimming Point Scores 2019 will advance to the final. Non-viable events will be swam at the end of the morning session. Other viable events in 50m, 100m and 200m with 8 or fewer athletes will be conducted as direct finals and swum only during the afternoon session. Events in 400m and Relays will be conducted as time finals and swum only during the afternoon session.

6 Medals Two sets of medals will be awarded in each event:
The best three athletes with a Review with/without fixed date and Confirmed status will receive medals in the "internationally classified" category. Minus one rule will be applied. The best three athletes with a New status will receive medals in the "nationally classified" category. Minus one rule will be applied. Medal Ceremonies will be at the venue after Finals session

7 Medal Ceremonies These will take place in the swimming pool in accordance with the timeline. Athletes must be in official team uniform Any Support Staff must be in approved uniform No flags or propaganda are to be taken to the podium Please support the swimmers at the medal ceremony.

Remember to keep the accreditation visible at all times at the swimming center Transportation timetable is tight. Please inform / make sure your team departure times Dining area and teams Physios/ rest area are at the sports hall Medal Ceremonies will be at the venue after Finals session

13 Race Completion Athlete Flow
Athletes shall leave the water either side of the pool, mats will be placed on the floor to prevent abrasions Personal mobility aids will be available at this point Exit either side of the pool WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

14 Warm-Up Warm-up is for the swimmers competing in the session.
Teams are responsible for the health and safety and well being of their own athletes. A swimmer shall not enter the warm-up without being under the direct supervision of their coach Paddles, Flippers or Snorkels are not allowed There will be designated lanes for VI athletes, S1-3 athletes and for starts (one-way) WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

15 Reporting to the Call Room
Swimmers, shall report to the Call-Room no later than 15 minutes prior to the published start of their race. With correct costumes Swimmers failing to appear by this time shall be deemed as withdrawing without authority and be subject to the penalties described in WPS Reg (€50 Penalty) Support Staff must accompany the athlete to the call room at the same time. If athlete does not have a support code and requires one – See the TD WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

16 Support Staff Any accredited person designated by the delegation to assist the swimmer (WSP Reg. Part A - General 1 Definitions) Swimmers who have A, Y, T rule exceptions are permitted support staff Exceptions may be checked in the call-room by the Technical Officials when support staff are present Support staff on pool deck when no A, Y, T exception is present may result in disqualification of the swimmer WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

17 Support Staff Support staff must wear an approved Team uniform.
Support Staff are not permitted to coach or massage athletes. When on Deck or in the call room. Support Staff are not permitted to use or visibly carry stopwatches, radio communication devices, back packs or bags. (10.7.1) If coaching occurs, the athlete will be disqualified. 18 Swimwear Only swimsuit approved by IPC Swimming will be permitted to be worn (WPS Rule 10.15) Any modifications shall be approved by the Technical Delegate, prior to the competition and recorded Swimwear will be checked by Technical Officials in the call room. It is the swimmers responsibility to be properly attired WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

19 Advertising / Branding
Teams are responsible for ensuring compliance with WPS Swimming Rules Body advertisement are not allowed in any way whatsoever (this include tattoos and symbols) (WPS Reg ) The Referee has the authority to exclude any competitor whose swimsuit or body symbols do not comply with these rules Tattoo advertising blocked out including the “Olympic Rings”. 20 Competition Procedures - Withdrawals
A medical withdrawal is the ONLY withdrawal after this team meeting (WPS Reg. 10.6) Medical withdrawal must be submitted no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. (WPS Reg ) Withdrawal forms are available from the Swimming Information Desk (SID) or Swimming Manager. €50 Euro fine for non-compliance – the athlete will be withdrawn from future events until the fine is paid (WPS Reg ) Team Managers are requested to report to the Technical Delegate or Swimming Manager to pay the fine WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

21 Equipment Checks All devices shall be cleared and deemed safe and checked by WPS Technical Delegate (TD), prior to the commencement of the competition Unapproved devices may lead to disqualification All approved devices will be logged Devices will be checked and issued with an approval sticker prior to the start of the session (TD) WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

22 Protective Medical Taping
All taping is to be checked and authorised by the Referee/TD prior to the start of the session and shall only be permitted when used for medical purposes (e.g. open wound, pressure sores, stoma, sensitive skin) (WPS Rule ) NOT covering tattoos (adverts) or to enhance performance Unapproved taping will lead to disqualification (WPS Rule ) Taping will be checked by the Referee/TD before the start of each session on poolside WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting

23 Technical Protests Submit Protests to the Referee 10.12
Protests must be submitted on the WPS Protest Form, available from the Swimming Information Desk, together with the deposit of €150 Euro Within 30 minutes of the results being posted. WAS World Games Swimming Technical Meeting
