3 Funding Electric School Buses
Funding per School Bus* Cost-Effectiveness Calc. (Eng. MY & Annual Usage) Alt Low-NOx option* Additional reimbursement incentive for EVSE* Up to 100% of eligible cost *subject to change Guideline Requirements for Funding:  a) Cost-effectiveness guideline requirements must be met for each project – Tier 1 through 3  b) All grants are replacement projects and require salvage of an old bus. 2 for 1 projects allowed  c) Unfiltered buses below 14,001 lbs GVWR will be processed on a case-by-case scenario for electric bus purchase only.  d) Funding levels for DAC and EJ area must be meet per guideline requirements  e) 4 buses per school district for initial funding… used to ensure a fair funding plan for all qualifying school districts

4 This funding opportunity enables the SMAQMD to meet our goal of every Sacramento County school district using zero-emission technology in their fleet.  With each school district using an electric bus of their own, they will have first-hand knowledge of all the benefits the zero-emission technology brings to a fleet.  Funding cap will apply to ensure program integrity, fairness of funding, and all replacement usage requirement are meet. Pricing limit will be based on a bus specification that meets modern routing needs, e.g. maximum range, full-inclusion seating, chair lift, and wheel base built for tight space mobility.  Each school district may modify bus specifications when ordering, but must pay for price differential.  HVIP funds will be applied to bus invoice first, then CAP or Moyer fund up to the maximum funding limit.  No incentive funds will pay for duplicate costs.  Funds are for zero-emission bus purchase only.

5 Competitive Ultra-Low NOx
School District Fleet must be compliant with CARB Truck and Bus Regulation Rule 10% of school buses in fleet, subject to regulation, must be electric *Grants will be awarded after electric bus “in-use” is proven. (Adopted technology, on routes, documented use for a predetermined timeframe after the post-inspection.) Fleet size for 10% calculation is based on buses subject to the CARB Truck and Bus Regulation. (Determine needed paperwork and inspections needed to prove in-use and full adoption of technology prior to issuing grant award to purchase low NOx buses. Competitive ranking based on Prop1B funding model.
