Informational Essay Length: 4-5 paragraphs -Introduction with thesis as the last sentence in the paragraph. -Between 2-3 body paragraphs with explanation and textual evidence about your topic. -Conclusion: Restate introduction and thesis. An informational essay is informing your reader about a particular topic.

Argumentative essay Length: 5 paragraphs
-Introduction with a claim (the stance you’re taking) and thesis as the last sentence of the paragraph with list of reasons in support of your claim. -2 body paragraphs with explanation and textual evidence to back up your claim. -Counterclaim: touch on the opposing side and bring it back to your claim (example: Although it may seem….. However….) -Conclusion: Restate introduction and claim/thesis An argumentative essay is meant to persuade your reader.

Narrative Writing Story based writing
Make sure to have an appropriate setting, characters, and plot. Have a clear point of view the story is told from. Story needs to have a lot of imagery, where you describe in great detail. (show don’t tell) Story is told in a organized, sequential order

Writing tips and reminders
-Use different types of sentences while writing. Not just simple sentences. Example: Compound, complex, and compound complex. -Liven your vocabulary. -Directly quote the text for textual evidence. -Show any advancement of punctuation where possible. (Use of commas, colons, semicolons, quotation marks, etc.) -Make sure to fully answer the question being asked by the prompt!!! -Once finished writing, go back and re-read your work to check for mistakes.
