It has two sites on Teesside employing over 160 people and is now one of Europe’s largest providers of custom manufacturing services to blue chip petrochemical and speciality chemical companies as well as to smaller companies with niche applications. The position supports the HR Manager in providing a comprehensive, accurate and confidential HR service and learning and development service for the Middlesbrough and Billingham sites Main tasks: Maintain HR policies and procedures and provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on application of those policies Provide advice and support on employee relations matters Provide support in the recruitment process through selection and interviews Absence management administration Provide support for employee well-being programmes including ‘Better health at work’ Back-up for Payroll / Pension administration Manage apprenticeship programme for all departments Identify training needs for new hire and existing employees Ensure learning and development strategy is delivered to support business requirements Assist with employee development plan creation and implementation Coaching employees within the Performance Management process

Required skills: CIPD Level 5 in Human Resource Management (preferred) Has had at least some professional experience within the Chemical Industry Good working knowledge of HR Legislation Credible and confident communication skills Must be able to manage difficult situations and people with discretion, empathy, tact and diplomacy Good organisational and planning skills with attention to detail and accuracy Good coaching, facilitation and listening skills The ability to work on multiple tasks at one time The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with minimal supervision Excellent I.T. skills Must have a full UK driving license Must be eligible to work in the UK Fluency in French would be a distinct advantage Location: Middlesbrough & Billingham Remuneration: A competitive starting salary plus group personal pension scheme, private healthcare and other competitive benefits.
