Applying Artificial Intelligence: Intelligent Knowledge Assistants

2 artificial intelligence
The age of artificial intelligence has arrived.

3 Well, not robots and flying cars exactly…

4 …Intelligent Assistants

5 Cognitive Engagements
The three types of AI Cognitive Insights – “analytics on steroids” – these machine learning apps are used to: Predict what a customer is likely to buy, automate personalized targeting of digital ads, or put things into categories. Deloitte’s audit practice is using cognitive insight to extract terms from contracts. Process Automation – the most common type of of AI – the automation of digital and physical tasks using Robotic process automation technologies. Tasks include: transferring data from and phone systems into systems of record, reading legal and contractual documents to extract provisions using natural language processing, or updating customer files and CRM systems. If you can outsource a task you can probably automate it with PA. Cognitive Engagement – chat bots, intelligent agents, and machine learning – IA’s can offer customer service, answer employee questions, handle interactions without adding headcount Cognitive Insights Cognitive Engagements Process Automation

7 Proactive Knowledge Capture
Get Answers IKA & Knowledge Management Do Research Routing Proactive Knowledge Capture

8 Overview IKA, or intelligent knowledge assistant, is a  technology that allows people to ask any question in a natural conversational manner and get answers. The core concept is that IKA is able to tap into both the Knowledge Catalogs and other internal/external systems to derive answers. In addition, IKA can be the conduit for routing unanswered questions to the appropriate people internally.

9 Getting Answers IKA can answers questions that are very common in the enterprise. “How do I fill out an expense report?” , “Who can help me with expense”, “What is our CRM system”, “Who is our lawyer”… the answer to these questions are found in either a Knowledge Catalog or other internal systems such as an intranet.

10 Do Research IKA can also support complex research scenarios where IKA searches the entire digital ecosystem to provide relevant answers. The key enabling technology is a combination of intelligent agents and a proprietary recommendations engine
