FYP PROPOSAL What is a research proposal?
A research proposal is a concise and coherent summary of your proposed research. It sets out the central issues or questions that you intend to address. It outlines the general area of study within which your research falls, referring to the current state of knowledge and any recent debates on the topic. It also demonstrates the originality of your proposed research.

WHAT IS A LITERATURE REVIEW?
A literature review is an evaluative report of information found in the literature related to your selected area of study. The review should describe, summarise, evaluate and clarify this literature. It should give a theoretical base for the research and help you (the author) determine the nature of your project. Clearly states some previous works in the area Include citation in text

3. Problem Statement 1. Who does the problem affect and how many
people/system etc, are affected by this problem? 2. What would the outcome be if the problem is not solved? 3. Where is the problem taking place? 4. When does the problem need to be fixed? 5. Why is it important for the problem to be fixed? 6. Is the problem short-term or will it sustain into the future? 7. Would this research revise existing knowledge or practise? If so, how will it?

4. Objectives 1. Objectives should start with “To ……”
2. Objectives should be Specific Well defined Clear to anyone that has a basic/dont has a basic knowledge of the project Measurable Know if the goal is obtainable and the toward completion Notify when you have achieved your goal. Agreed Upon Agreement with all the stakeholders what the goals should be Realistic Within the availability of resources, knowledge and time Time-Based Enough time to achieve the goal Not too much time, which can affect project performance

4. Objectives (example) Based on the problem statements stated in the previous sections, these are the objectives that need to be achieved in this work: 1. To design and develop a simple and cost effective MBRFL source with a single Raman pump. 2. To enhance S-OSNR of multiple Stokes lines. 3. To improve the Stokes lines quality in terms of peak power flatness and linewidth uniformity.

5. Methodology A clear methods section should contain the following:
The material and equipment used in the project The experiment method- clearly describe the specific design. The characterisation tools and procedures of analysis The outcome and their measuring methods (method for data analysis) Overall workflow need to provided.
