Goals Activities 1.1 Develop a leadership and operational structure for ILL and Document Delivery Services across CAUL-CBUA DDG leadership model discussion at DDG AGM COPPUL/OCUL/CAUL-CBUA/BCI Resource Sharing Agreement Working Group 1.2 Optimize the Relais implementation for ILL and document delivery services across CAUL-CBUA Relais Implementation Optimization Working Group Recommendations 1.3 Work with Novanet to better coordinate shared service efforts, preferably on a regional scale Discussions with Bill Slauenwhite, Executive Director 1.4 Develop networks of shared expertise among CAUL-CBUA members. Communities of Practice using Microsoft Teams 1.5 Develop regional expertise and best practices in support of national university, college, and library association interpretations of the Copyright Act and Fair Dealing. 2.0 Develop a comprehensive strategy across CAUL-CBUA to facilitate the actualization of the CFLA-FCAB TRC Report recommendations at member institutions Goals Activities 2.1 In collaboration with Indigenous Peoples, develop an education and training program to foster understanding among CAUL-CBUA members. CAUL-CBUA Forum on TRC Digital Preservation and Stewardship Committee – Oral History Workshop (Fall 2019) 2.2 Working in collaboration with Indigenous Peoples, develop strategies to address member needs in working with Indigenous Peoples. CAUL-CBUA Indigenous Matters Committee 2.3 Foster interest in, and support for, Indigenous Peoples in the Atlantic Region entering information management careers, either directly, or in partnership with other organizations and/or institutions. 2.4 Foster the indigenization of collection development across CAUL-CBUA member institutions. 3.0 Foster growth and development in employee knowledge and skills at member libraries to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving post-secondary education landscape Goals Activities 3.1 Develop an ongoing coordinated plan for education and development opportunities for CAUL-CBUA members. Webinars based on needs/areas of interest identified by members Topical member forums twice yearly 3.2 Enable financial support opportunities for CAUL-CBUA members. Group registration for externally offered webinars CAUL-CBUA Collaborative Research Grant Award CAUL-CBUA Innovation Grant Award 3.3 Develop a multi-faceted approach to ensuring member awareness of education and development opportunities. Goals Activities 4.1 Leverage member purchasing power and optimize resource usage rights in consortial acquisitions while balancing the diverse needs and priorities of the membership. Atlantic Health Knowledge Partnership Media resources LIM/ERM Investigatory Working Group 4.2 Develop a strategy for the preservation of non-digital collections in the region. Committee meetings with Director General for LAC Published Heritage Branch 4.3 Develop a strategy for the preservation of, and perpetual access to, electronic resources in the region. Licence clauses for local loading and perpetual access rights 4.4 Facilitate discoverability of member collections in the region. 4.5 Develop an education and training program to facilitate member skills and knowledge development. 5.0 Coordinate regional, and leverage national, RDM initiatives to support institutional researcher needs Goals Activities 5.1 Provide ongoing access to training resource material and enable CAUL-CBUA members to participate in education and training opportunities related to research data management. Digital Preservation and Stewardship Committee’s RDM webinar series RDM Roadshow SSHRC Connection Grant proposal 5.2 Connect members with documentation to support RDM service development and delivery. 5.3 Ensure regional awareness of Portage and other RDM services and initiatives through network development and information sharing. What is a Vision Statement?
A vision statement has more to do with the future and really describes what an organization plans or hopes to be/achieve/accomplish in the future. It is more of an inspirational or motivational statement. To be effective, the message should be clear, optimistic, and realistic. The key questions to answer in a vision statement include: Where does the organization want to be in 5 years or 10 years? How do we want to get there? CAUL-CBUA Strategic Plan

Declaration of an organization's core purpose and focus that normally remains unchanged over time. A mission statement has a more present day focus. The key questions to answer in a mission statement include: What does the organization do? Who does the organization serve? What benefit does the organization provide? CAUL-CBUA Strategic Plan
