A model for the metabolic adaptation of freshwater sticklebacks.
In the freshwater stickleback, an allele leading to reduced TSHβ2 expression level was selected. This is likely to lead to a decrease in T4 and T3 levels and thus a decrease in various parameters directly linked to energy expenditure.
