LIZ O’DELL, PRINCIPAL OF ASPIRE BEN HOLT COLLEGE PREP ACADEMY
Joined Aspire in 2001 as a Lead Math and Science teacher. Mrs. O’Dell moved to the Dean of Students Role in 2007 and served in that role until 2016 when she transitioned to the role of Principal. She attended Pacific Union College where she earned a BS degree in Biochemistry and a BA degree in Psychology. She continued her graduate studies at Loma Linda University where she received her Master’s Degree in Public Health. Mrs. O’Dell returned to school and received her teaching credential from Sonoma State University.

Opened in August 2003 417 students in 9th – 12th grade as of Tuesday, August 12, 2017 Our motto is: “One Team. One Vision.”

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS At Ben Holt College Prep Academy, our team is excellent, and our vision is lofty but attainable: “Every student is prepared to earn a college degree.” Benjamin Holt College Preparatory Academy emphasizes “College for Certain” and works with all students to set a purpose for college and persists with a growth mindset and strong academic skills. In addition to the emphasis on college readiness, the school offers a wide variety of athletics for boys and girls, with league championships in girls’ soccer, girls’ basketball, softball, and baseball. Since the last charter renewal, one of Benjamin Holt’s greatest areas of progress has been the increase in its graduation rate. The Charter School had a 4.8% increase overall and now have 100% of its students graduating.

FOCUS ON LITERACY We are adopting high-quality curriculum, curating and/or developing resources and tools in many content areas to support our educators with tools that have been expertly developed in alignment with CCSS/NGSS. We redesigned school day bell schedule to prioritize literacy AND provide access to pathways electives and early college courses
