1. Descriptive Writing Lesson Five

To apply knowledge of descriptive techniques to a piece of descriptive writing.

Writing AF1 & AF7

2. Task One
Watch the clip of Harry Kewell’s house on MTV cribs. Note down as many adjectives as you can to describe his ‘crib’.

3. Task Two
In groups, use the thesaurus to make these ‘boring’ sentences more interesting. Annotate and change any of the words and write this around your sheet. (one per group)

4. Task Three
Create a piece of descriptive writing on either: A WAG’s house Or A footballer’s house You choose who the house belongs to! PLAN your work using the senses sheet. What techniques must you use in descriptive writing? Can you think of any that we could use in our descriptive writing task?
