2 Course Overview This is a four (4) week course designed to provide skills and knowledge to operate, maintain, and repair the MK-9 Mod-4 Dead Reckoning Analyzer Indicator (DRAI) and MK-6 Mod-4C Dead Reckoning Tracer (DRT) under all shipboard readiness conditions.

3 Course Objectives At the completion of this course the trainee will have acquired a thorough knowledge of the DRAI Mk-9 Mod-4 and DRT Mk-6 Mod-4C, and corrective maintenance procedures, as well as the necessary skill to operate and manage these systems.

3.  Special Devices & Circuits 4.  Synchros, Control Xformers, & Resolvers 5.  DRAI Introduction & Operation 6.  DRAI Maintenance and Circuit Analysis 7.  Six Step Troubleshooting / Tech Manual Familiarity 8. DRT Introduction & Operational Procedures 9. DRT Maintenance and Circuit Analysis

5 Course Prerequisites Rate: IC Paygrade E-1 to E9
Must have completed IC “A” School or all of the following: 1. Six months fleet experience with the DRAI 2. Completed appropriate rate training manual for 3rd Class Petty Officer. 3. Completed Navy Electricity and Electronics Training Series (NEETS) Modules 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,13, and 15.

6 Course Requirements To pass the course, students must maintain a grade of (70) or above. Testing consists of four (4) knowledge and two (2) performance progress tests. Remediation is provided for students experiencing difficulties with the course.

13 Preparing to Attend the Course
