2. We are now celebrating Easter with chocolate eggs but did you know the first ones were produced locally. In 1874 Joseph Cadbury, in his union st. Factory in Bristol moulded the first ever commercial chocolate bar.

3. Fry chocolate made the first Easter egg in 1875 followed by the famous Frys Turkish delight in 1914.In 1919 Frys merged with Cadburys. And in 1923 the factory moved to the Somerdale site in Keynasham. In 1981 frys name was dropped.

4. Its very sad news that Somerdale factory is to close, and part of Bristol chocolate making history will be gone FOREVER!!! THE END
