What Is the TPS process? A sub-team of the Training Programme
We aim to support registrars experiencing difficulty These difficulties are categorised as: Clinical/Performance Educational Health GMC concerns or conditions

What is the TPS list? Concerns about a registrar may come from:
The registrar: you can approach us! Clinical supervisor; first month form Educational supervisor Training programme director on half-day release These concerns are fed back to the “TPS team” If sufficient or serious concerns, registrar is added to TPS list

What happens if I am on the TPS list?
Please don’t worry The key aim is to provide support and assistance We want you get you through your training We will arrange a meeting with you Discuss any difficulties you may be having Agree (with you) a plan of action

Plan of action Depends on the particular difficulty
Health concerns; refer to occupational health, agree time off work or working LTFT, advice about seeking help from your own GP. Educational difficulties: agree a learning plan (PDP), refer to educational support service for specific help e.g. exam related anxiety, dyslexia, language difficulties Performance concerns: liaise with clinical supervisor, plan an extension e.g. following adverse ARCP outcome

Who else may be involved?
We aim to work with your clinical supervisor and, where appropriate, educational supervisor We feel this ensures that everyone is working together to best support you through your training We aim to share information with your clinical supervisor Handover form, at the end of each post, allows transfer of relevant information to your next clinical supervisor We will always inform you when we are sharing information Where appropriate: DME, Human resources, practice manager. (GMC)

Educational Support Occupational health Counselling CBT Dealing with anxiety including exam related anxiety Linguistic support Can support you with health problems affecting work Assess whether you are fit to return to work Facilitate a return to work Advise your employer about specific needs
