Professional Business attire options include: Suits – dress which are corporate, knee length and fit appropriately Suits – pants/skirt, which are are tailored in a business style and not worn too tight, with: Shirt Only/Blouse Shirt and/or necktie (solid or business-styled patterns) Blazers Slacks, dresses or skirts combinations (which matches the colour) With blouse/shirt Professional Business attire must be neat, clean and well pressed at all times. Suits must follow the proper approved colours for Sofitel: charcoal grey, black, dark brown, grey and navy blue ONLY. Discreet patterns on blouses and collar shirts are allowed. Dresses and blouses are allowed to be coloured and patterned with subtlety. Collar shirts and blouses can have thin stripes of similar tone of the shirt / blouse. If wearing hosiery, hosiery must be clean, in good repair without holes, coordinated with the business attire (only flesh colour to match the ambassador skin colour, or black colour stocking if worn with black skirts). If not wearing hosiery, legs must be clean shaven and presentable. 7. Shirts and suits must always be neat, clean and well pressed at all times. Different designs of suits are acceptable, such as Hound's-tooth, thin pinstripe, plaid. No blazers are allowed. Suits must follow the approved Sofitel colours for suits: charcoal grey, black, dark brown, grey, navy blue. Only classic tailored suits. Shirts: Plain white and subtle colours and/or patterns are allowed. Shirts may have thin lines of the same colour, or a similar tone of the shirt. Checked shirts with thin lines of similar colour of the shirt are allowed. Contrast-collar and heavy striped shirts are strictly forbidden. Ties need to fit to the French elegance of Sofitel. No buttons or zippers missing. Shoes must be formal leather-like dress shoes, leather, suede or patent allowed. Shoes must be one colour only, the following colours are accepted: black, dark brown, dark blue and tan. Both slip-ons or lace up shoes are accepted. Shoes cannot have patterns. 11. HAIR HAIR STANDARDS: SOFITEL’S PREFERENCE FOR FEMALE’S HAIR STYLE: GROOMING GUIDELINES FEMALES Hair must always appear and be clean. Hair must be neatly styled, allowing for eye contact at all times with no loose strands. Use of fringe is allowed, only if the fringe starts above the eyebrows. Natural-coloured or tinted hair that complements and is well maintained. Conservative use of styling products. Bobby pins in the hair colour are allowed and strongly recommended to tidy up the hair-style. The Chignon – Bun is still Sofitel’s most recommended hair style for females. Hair down is strictly forbidden and must be worn up if not above shoulder height. 16. GROOMING GUIDELINES MALES Face has to be FULLY uncovered. No fringes allowed for men. Long hair must be neatly tied back with no loose strands, allowing for eye contact at all times. Natural-coloured or tinted hair that complements and is well maintained. Hair must be short and well kept. Hair products are highly advisable to use to style hair, however must be used conservatively. Sideburns must not be longer than 2.5 cm. Facial hair must: - be neatly trimmed or cleanly shaven from the base of the neck - be one consistent length and fully grown (in the case of a beard) - be conservative in style - maintain a professional image The following is not acceptable: - Shaved hair creating patterns is strictly not allowed. - Patchy beards. - Ambassadors are not allowed to grow a beard while working. 19. MAKE-UP GROOMING GUIDELINES Make up that promotes a professional, well-groomed image. Make up applied moderately that complements natural skin tones. Only natural colours make up: rose, pale rose, subtle gold, light grey and browns. Make-up needs to be refreshed during the shift. Long lasting lipstick or lip gloss: nudes, subtle pink and red only. Eye-brows natural arc (only brown pencil to be used). Eye-brow tattoos must look natural. Eye liner must be thin and black or brown only. Only black or brown mascara for eye-lashes is allowed. Only natural looking extensions allowed. Facial enhancements such as botox or fillers need to have a natural appearance. Extreme colours and/or excessive amounts of makeup are not allowed. Accepted colours include classic colours (red, pink, nude), French manicure and hazelnut brown. If nail polish is worn, colour must be maintained and worn without any chips. Nails must be kept clean, trimmed and filed. Nails decorations are strictly forbidden. 24. GROOMING GUIDELINES FEMALES Minimal, stylish and professional jewellery (including watches) that complements, does not detract from the business attire, nor distracts others. Maximum one bracelet as long as the bracelet is thin, silver or gold, and without pendants. Earrings must be discreet and small and a maximum of two earrings per ear but only in the earlobes can be worn. All other visible piercings are strictly forbidden. Visible tattoos are strictly forbidden and will need to be covered. Maximum one necklace may be worn, made of silver or gold. Necklaces may have a small pendant. Only 1 ring per hand as long as it is complementary to the business attire, other jewellery worn and maintains a professional image. Glasses with minimal ornamentation/logos in line with the intended brand effect. 27. ACCESSORIES STANDARDS FOR MALES: GROOMING GUIDELINES MALES Males are allowed to wear one bracelet only. Bracelet must be gold or silver only. Bracelet cannot be wider than 1 cm and cannot have pendants. Earrings must be discreet and small and a maximum of two earrings per ear but only in the earlobes can be worn. All other visible piercings are strictly forbidden. Chains are not allowed. Bracelets made of fabric, rubber or leather are strictly forbidden. Visible tattoos must be covered. Necklaces in the case of men must not be visible. Males can wear maximum 1 discreet ring in total, made of gold or silver. Only discreet watches made of leather or metal. SOFITEL NAME BADGE: To be worn by all Ambassadors on the left side reflecting first name in capital letters. To be worn by all Supervisors/Managers of Operational departments (excluding Kitchen) reflecting full name, only last name in capital letters. Please note – only 1 pin (or name badge) is to be worn at any one time.
