3. What was he like?
Claudius was tall, well-built and handsome, but he stumbled as he walked because his knees got weak. When he got excited, he had an uncontrollable laugh. When he was angry, he slobbered and his nose ran. He stammered and he had a nervous twitch. He was, however, very intelligent: he just had an image problem. He was keen to prove himself as good as Caesar.
