WHERE IS THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Our fire extinguisher is powder-based, used to smother a fire. Do not use the fire extinguisher on people or animals. WHERE IS THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN THIS ROOM?

WHERE IS THE FIRE BLANKET
Use the fire blanket if someone is on fire. Cover the person with the blanket so that the burning area is completely covered. WHERE IS THE FIRE BLANKET IN THIS ROOM??

WHERE IS THE EYE FOUNTAIN
4. Eye Wash Station Get any chemical out of your eyes immediately. Do not wait until passing period. Let the water run through the eye wash fountain before using. Hold your eyelid open and rinse for several minutes. WHERE IS THE EYE FOUNTAIN IN THIS ROOM??

WHERE IS THE FIRST AID KIT
Items in the first aid kit are for minor injuries. If blood is involved, let individual handle his/her own band aid. Do not clean up blood. Allow your teacher to clean any blood up. WHERE IS THE FIRST AID KIT IN THIS ROOM??

6. Safety Shower WHERE IS THE SAFETY SHOWER IN THIS ROOM??
Used for DIRE EMERGENCIES ONLY! Position yourself or your lab partner under the shower head and pull lever. Flames will rapidly be extinguished. WHERE IS THE SAFETY SHOWER IN THIS ROOM??

7. Broken Glass Do not clean up broken glass yourself.
Get your teacher to safely clean it up. You will NOT be in trouble for accidentally breaking glass. You WILL BE in trouble for NOT informing your teacher.

8. Food and Drink There is NEVER any food or drink allowed at lab.
A good practice is to assume everything at lab is TOXIC.

9. Unauthorized Experiments
There will be NO unauthorized experiments at lab. Have an idea for an experiment? Check with your teacher first.

Part 2: Lab First Aid

Burns Apply cold water. Call teacher over immediately.

Cuts and bruises Stop any bleeding by applying direct pressure. Cover cuts with clean dressing. Apply cold compresses to bruises. Call teacher over immediately.

Fainting Leave person lying down. Keep crowds away.
Call teacher over immediately.

Foreign matter in eye Flush with plenty of water. Use eyewash station.

Ingesting poison Note the suspected poisoning agent and call teacher immediately. Immediate medical attention will be necessary.

Any spills on skin Flush or rinse with water, or use safety shower. Call teacher over immediately.
