4. TRAN Committee Review
House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure, and Communities (TRAN Committee) is assessing the impact of aircraft noise in the vicinity of major Canadian airports.
Initiated in October 2018
Invited representatives from major Canadian airports (Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary) as well as NAV CANADA, aerospace manufacturers, industry experts, Transport Canada, and airlines to speak.
Focus was on aircraft relate noise in vicinity of airports, including night time flights.
A final report is expected early 2019 and once published, the Minister will have 120 days to respond.
