List 3 things you know about atoms. *Make sure you have graphed all your quiz and test data! SPI Recognize that all matter consists of atoms. SPI Compare the particle arrangement and type of particle motion associated with different states of matter. Learning Goal: Compare and contrast sets of vocabulary terms related to the atoms and states of matter unit.

Atoms The smallest particle of matter and has all the same properties of that matter. Atoms have smaller parts, but those parts don’t have the same properties as the original matter. The smaller parts are called subatomic particles These are protons (+), electrons (-) and neutrons (0)
