The Camp Fire The Camp Fire was the deadliest, most destructive fire in California history. More than 19,000 structures burned, including over 14,000 homes, 85 people died, and 153,336 acres burned.

Responding to an Unprecedented Disaster
Evacuations in place for 85 days. Congregate shelters open for 100 days. Non-Congregate sheltering continues. More than 14,000 households displaced

More Uncertainty. Less Hope. Testing every level of government. Showing us our limitations (local, state, federal).

Housing 14,000 total homes destroyed - 3,100 in the unincorporated area. 1-2% vacancy rate prior to the fire. Employers struggle to keep employees whose homes were destroyed.

Debris Removal Priority to get people back to their property.
State program (as of 5/6/19) 11,355 property owners have signed up 2,300 properties cleared 299 properties certified clean and ready for rebuild Alternative Program (as of 5/6/19) 1,373 property owners have signed up 287 final reports – cleared 241 properties certified clean and ready to rebuild

100,000 plus on private property that threaten the County right-of-way (no clear source of funding for removal). Estimate of $110,000,000 to remove identified trees in unincorporated area only.
