In vivo assessment of synergistic activity of MV-CEA and RT in a U87 s
In vivo assessment of synergistic activity of MV-CEA and RT in a U87 s.c. xenograft model. In vivo assessment of synergistic activity of MV-CEA and RT in a U87 s.c. xenograft model. A, tumor volumes in the different groups were compared by log-rank test. Treatment was initiated on day 7 (black arrow) and completed on day 19 (red arrow) following tumor implantation. There was significant inhibition of tumor growth in the MV-CEA/RT combination–treated group as compared with the other groups (P < 0.001). B, Kaplan-Meier survival curves show significant prolongation of survival in combination-treated mice as compared with MV-CEA/RT– or UV-inactivated virus–treated mice (P < 0.001). Five of the eight mice in the combination-treated group remained alive tumor-free at 200+ days from the initiation of experiment. C, viral rescue in Vero cell overlays from MV-CEA– and MV-CEA/RT–treated tumors indicates that the observed antitumor effect in combination-treated mice is at least in part due to viral replication.
