Fig. 4 DEGs in the skin and the blood of P. leucopus with or without B
Fig. 4 DEGs in the skin and the blood of P. leucopus with or without B. burgdorferi infection after 5 weeks. DEGs in the skin and the blood of P. leucopus with or without B. burgdorferi infection after 5 weeks. (A) Venn diagram of the total number of DEGs [false discovery rate (FDR) P < 0.05] in the skin and the blood. The numbers that were increased or decreased in expression in infected animals as compared to uninfected animals are shown (table S6). (B) Volcano plot showing DEGs in the skin of the ear between B. burdgorferi–infected and uninfected P. leucopus at 4 weeks. The plot shows genes with both an absolute fold change of ≥2 (log2 of the fold change value on the x axis) and a false discovery rate P value of <10−2 (−log10 of the P value on the y axis). If more than one DEG transcript was associated with a given gene, then the one with the lowest false discovery rate is displayed. Selected gene families are highlighted by color: tubulin (green), keratin (red), immunoglobulin light chains (yellow), and heat-shock proteins (orange). Genes with false discovery rate P values of ≤10−5 are labeled according to M. musculus nomenclature. Anthony D. Long et al.
