The Nature of Blood Blood is a mixture of cells
Erythrocytes, red blood cells White Blood cells platelets plasma, the fluid protein of the blood When blood is clotted, the liquid is called serum

Serology Serology involves a broad scope of laboratory tests that you specific antigen and serum anti-body reactions. An anti-body reacts or agglutinates only with a specific antigen.

Detecting Abused Drugs
The concept of specific antigen – anti-body reactions has been applied to techniques for detecting abused drugs in blood in urine.

Blood Types Every cell blood cell contains antigens, A B or no antigen
this is called type O.

Antigen The type of antigen on one’s red blood cells determines one's A-B-O blood type.

Blood Type People with type A blood have A antigens in the red blood cells. Those with type B blood have B antigens. Type O but have no antigens on the red blood cells.
