eCRS for visiting moderation units in Summer 2019: Centres will use the eCRS application to submit the candidate record sheets, confirm Internal Standardisation and candidates/teacher authentication. GCSE Technology & Design Unit 3 (GTY31) GCSE Moderation Visits: 30 April 2019 to 13 May 2019 Deadline for submitting eCRS is 29 April 2019 GCE AS Technology & Design Unit 2 (SET21) GCE AS Moderation Visits: 10 May 2019 to 16 May 2019 Deadline for submitting eCRS is 7 May 2019 GCE A2 Technology & Design Unit 2 (ATE21) GCSE Moderation Visits: 17 May 2019 to 23 May 2019

Process changes for visiting moderation
Old Process New Process Liaise with Exams Officers regarding any consortium arrangements No Change Centres submit entries Teacher(s) complete the assessment of all candidates Teacher(s) record outcomes on hardcopy candidate record sheets Teacher(s) record outcomes on the eCRS application Candidates and teachers sign the authentication statement on the hardcopy candidate record sheets Candidates and teachers sign the downloaded authentication document from the eCRS application. The lead teacher confirms the authentication statements on the eCRS screen when submitting marks to CCEA Centre submits hardcopy candidate record sheets to CCEA No longer required Centre completes TAC1 OMR with total mark for each candidate and submitted to CCEA No longer required as the marks for all candidates are totalled within the eCRS application Complete TAC2 form – Internal Standardisation details completed on manual form and submitted to CCEA No longer required as the lead teacher confirms the Internal Standardisation statements on the eCRS screen when submitting marks to CCEA Centre receives sampling details from CCEA Centre displays work and record sheets for sample in rank order for moderator’s visit No change except candidate record sheets to be printed from the eCRS application Remaining hardcopy candidate record sheets available for moderator’s visit in rank order Moderator contacts centre to confirm time/ date of visit – followed up by written confirmation Moderator carries out moderation of centre Outcome of moderation discussed and signed off by moderator and centre representative Moderator retains a copy of all candidate record sheets and any TAC2 not already submitted to CCEA No longer required unless moderator requests a copy of all candidate record sheets

Recommendations The new units for GCE/GCSE Technology & Design will be available for Exams Officers to set up registrations from November 2018. Ensure any consortium arrangements have been registered with CCEA. This is to allow the correct candidates to be displayed onscreen. Ensure all candidates are entered correctly and on time so you can access their eCRS. Allow adequate time to complete and submit the eCRS in advance of the stated deadline.
