Welcome! This is the sixteenth edition of the Practice Newsletter for all our patients at Dinnington, Anston, and Woodsetts Surgeries. If you wish to contribute to the next newsletter (Jan - Mar 2017) please send to the Practice Manager at Anston Medical Centre.
Flu Clinics
The annual flu vaccine season is upon us. This year as always we are holding flu clinics at Dinnington, Anston & Woodsetts surgeries.
We are inviting all patients over 65 and those who are under 65 and suffer from diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease or other chronic illness. If you are a main carer you may also be eligible for the vaccination. Pregnant women - It is recommended that all pregnant women should have the flu vaccine, whatever stage of pregnancy they're in. The vaccine does not carry risks for either the mother or baby.
Most children aged between 2 and 17 years, who are in the above mentioned at risk categories, will receive their flu protection by a nasal spray rather than an injection.
The clinics are being held at:
Dinnington & Anston Surgery on: Woodsetts surgery on;
Saturday 1st & 8th October 2016 Wednesday 5th October 2016
between 9.00am – 2.00pm Between 2.00pm – 5.30pm.
There will be some evening Flu Clinics available please contact your surgery for times and dates.
All patients with the above categories should receive a letter inviting them to a clinic. If you do not receive a letter please contact the surgery.
If you do not want the flu vaccination please contact the surgery so that we can offer the vaccination to someone else.
All healthy children aged 2, 3 and 4 are eligible for the flu vaccination and will be invited to attended specific clinics at the surgery.

2. Donation to the Practice
The Practice would like to thank Mrs Sylvia Hawley and her
School of Dance based at Ryton Road, North Anston.
They raised over £1,000 for
the Practice to buy a special
‘VITAL SIGNS MONITOR’ . This is used to
assess very unwell patients at the Practice.
Everyone at Dinnington Group Practice
would like to give a big thank you for the
effort that was put in to raise this money
and for this special donation.
CQC Inspection May 2016
Our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection led by a
CQC Lead Inspector and her support team of 5, visited the
Practice on 25th May The Inspectors need to ensure that we meet the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act Following the visit an overall rating is applied to the practice. The CQC make their rating judgement based on their findings on the day and using external data for example the National Patient Survey.
The team visited our 3 sites and met with GPs, Nurses, Reception Staff, Patients, members of our Patient Participation Group and the Management Team. This was a comprehensive inspection which gave us the opportunity to demonstrate what we provide and how well we provide for our patients in the 6 population groups as set by the CQC. Additionally we had to provide detailed information to the CQC in order to answer the 5 specific questions they ask about our care provision.
Following the inspection we received a full report and were given an overall rating for our service as ‘Good’. The report does highlight that we need to improve in a small number of areas the majority of which have already been addressed.
