State Forestry and Air representatives are encouraged to meet at least once a year before the fall burn season and to share new contact information as personnel turn over. The Southern Fire Exchange will annually offer the fire and air quality 101 webinars that were originally developed and presented in 2017 and 2018. The Summit Planning Team suggested sponsoring a longer event with more detailed prescribed fire training for state air quality personnel. They will follow-up with a query to gauge interest. The Summit Planning Team will create a database of each state’s prescribed fire permitting processes and burn data collected (after creating a template and requesting data from all 13 southern states). The Summit Planning Team will coordinate the sharing of existing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Smoke Management Programs (SMP) with states. The Summit Planning Team will evaluate the best way to create a work group clearinghouse to share information (could be done on the National NWCG Smoke Committee webpage). Working group fact sheets from each state will be provided to the Summit Planning Team by the South Group of State Foresters. Follow Up Actions
