Ex: She runs like a cheetah

3 Metaphor- is a phrase for one thing used for another
Ex: She’s a bear at the dinner table!

4 Ex: She was taller than a giraffe!
Hyperbole- is an exaggeration for effect not meant to be taken literally. Ex: She was taller than a giraffe!

5 Alliteration- is a repetition of initial sounds of words.
Ex: Bob bought big biting butterflies

6 Idiom- Set phrase with special meaning
Ex: Hold your horses! Meaning: Wait , have patients

7 Personification- Giving an inanimate object lifelike qualities.
Ex: The thunder screamed with anger!
