2. Animal Facility Security
Our facilities are vulnerable to animal rights activities
Vandalism
Infiltration
Everyone who works in an animal facility has a responsibility to keep our animals, research, and personnel safe.

3. Maintain restricted access to facilities
Don’t prop doors, if you see a propped door close it
Don’t let someone piggyback on your key card
Good pre-employment screening
Zero tolerance for animal mistreatment
If you see something suspicious, speak up
Avoid posting sensitive information on social media, pictures, etc.

6. LAR Staffing Updates

7. Update on LAR provided N-95 masks
LAR will provide any regularly ordered N59 mask types to research staff. If you do not see the mask type that you need, ask an LAR supervisor If the type you need is not part of LAR’s regular inventory, you will need to provide it yourself. LAR’s regular inventory is subject to change at any time. This does not effect IDRC operations, they still provide all needed mask types by request.

8. Update on Animal Management System
There have been set backs in the development that were not expected. Testing and training will pick up later this year, likely in the fall.

9. Animal Welfare Concerns Website
People can always contact Elaine directly for these if they prefer.  IACUC has policies in place on how to handle these as well.  

10. RICRO Staffing Updates
Laura Hinds is no longer with RICRO, Elaine and JJ are adjusting IACUC duties.
Use the address for any IACUC questions.

11. Animal Users E-mail Listserv
If you are in an editing role on a current IACUC protocol or you attended the Lab Liaison Meeting on 6/14/19, then you should be getting these s.  LAR (Megan C.) sends out monthly reminders for billing purposes, and other s get sent out about meeting notifications.  People can also subscribe on their own here:
